Hey, fellow LIICT tourer,
It’s been a very unusual year, to say the least. You probably feel like you need a change, something fun to do. And we got it for you. That change is LIICT, the Long Island Ice Cream Tour.
For 2020, our tenth year, we’re running two tours this summer. Come to one or come to both (if your really like ice cream and fun).
Listen to our Audio Tour.
(2022 episodes available this week.)
We’ve done our research and found the best places on Long Island where they make their ice cream on-premises, what we refer to as “homemade.”
We expect the tours to fill up and sell out, so register right away! And we expect to be covered by a number of media outlets again (Newsday, News12, perhaps even national outlets…)
West Tour (click for route and more details) – Sunday, July 19th (National Ice Cream Day!) We start the tour at 10:30am outside The Breakfast Club (21 S. Park Avenue, Rockville Centre). Please be there promptly for check-in.

You will need to wear our Official LIICT 2020 Tour shirt to get the discounts and special offerings we’ve arranged. You need to register by Friday, July 17 at 11:59pm in order to get your correctly-sized shirt made just for you. (After that time, you will still need to wear a royal blue shirt to be on the tour, but we won’t be able to provide our collector’s item custom-made t-shirt for you).
Everyone drives themselves, or preferably you can carpool with other attendees you know.
Masks – We will be following all local and state health guidelines as well as the wishes of each store owner while we tour. Face masks are required, and please be courteous and respectful of the safety and health of all others. Socially distance from others, especially while your masks are removed.
Camera – We will have a camera crew and will share photos and videos after the event. If you do bring a camera, be sure to bring spare batteries and/or spare memory cards.
Phone charger – You will likely be away from a power outlet for 8–12 hours. Bring a portable USB battery charger and/or a car charger.
Sunscreen – Put some sunscreen on before leaving. We will be out in the sun for several of the stops. We don’t want anyone getting burned out from a long adventure; let alone getting your skin burnt.
Money – Most ice cream shops will accept debit/credit cards. Some may accept Apple/Google Pay. Some may only accept cash. So bring some cash.
Fuel – We recommend arriving with a full tank of gas so you won’t have to stop to refuel during the tour. There are Tesla Superchargers near both the LIICT West and LIICT East routes.
Bathrooms – Unfortunately, none of the shops on our tour will have bathrooms available. Route your mapping app past a gas station between locations if you need to access a restroom. Don’t worry, you won’t miss anything if you’re a few minutes delayed to the next stop.
Parking – Many locations have street parking and/or a public parking lot within 1-2 blocks. As mentioned above, some locations have limited parking and we have arranged nearby parking. Please follow on-site guidance.
COVID-19 Rules
Fun, safety, and sweet treats go hand in hand for LIICT. We will be obeying all local and state health guidelines and laws, as well as the wishes of each store owner while we tour. Face masks are required at all stops (except, of course, while you’re eating your creamy, cold ice cream).
We’re looking forward to a sweet day with you!
Sweetly,
Jeff and Derek
