Opened in 1927, the early history of Hildebrandt’s is somewhat unknown. What we do know is they’re family-owned and have only changed hands four times since opening. The 1950s decor is as authentic and welcoming as their staff. Yes, yes: their ice cream is fantastic! If you dine-in, you’ll be delighted to receive your scoop(s) in a classic metal bowl.
We will typically visit Hildebrandt’s in the middle of the tour so that attendees can also get lunch or dinner (they have a full menu) to offset all the ice cream we experience.
