The 11th Annual Long Island Ice Cream Tour is Ready to Sweeten Your Summer
• LIICT stops at only “homemade” ice cream shops
• Tours cover all of Long Island
• Each tour is a day of Fun, Sun, and Sweetness

LONG ISLAND, NY – MAY 2021 – The Long Island Ice Cream Tour (LIICT), now in its 11th year, will again share the sweetness of fresh, homemade ice cream made on Long Island this summer. Like the event in 2020, this year, there are two tours scheduled, covering the western and eastern parts of Long Island. Each tour will include six to eight locally owned ice cream shops. Participants provide their own transportation throughout the tour and each tour lasts six to eight hours, sampling from most of the places on Long Island that make their ice cream on their premises.

LIICT 2021 West will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 and tour participants will visit shops primarily in Nassau County. Our planned stops include Hidebrandt’s, Five Pennies Creamery, Herrell’s, and Sweet Treats on the Wharf. LIICT 2021 East will take place on Sunday, July 18, 2021 (National Ice Cream Day) and the tour will travel and sample the creamy goodness at Suffolk County ice cream stores. Planned stops include Snowflake, McNulty’s, Coyles, Northport Sweet Shop, and Lics. The tours begin at 10:30 a.m. and last until the late afternoon each day. A ticket and registration are required for all participants (adults and children). Fresh, smooth, sweet. Delicious!

“Despite the challenges of the global pandemic and social distancing, 2020 was a banner year for LIICT. Due to its overwhelming popularity, we added a second date with nearly 100 people joining us on each tour. This delicious trek across Long Island provides a fun way to meet friends — old and new — while sampling the area’s best homemade ice cream. A majority of the participants continue to attend year after year”, stated LIICT co-founder Jeff Noreman, of Old Bethpage, New York.

Registration includes an official LIICT tour shirt, which entitles participants to special discounts, and many of the shops offer special flavors or creations for the day. All shops on the LIICT are locally-owned and create “homemade” ice cream (on premises). This unique event also helps the local economy by supporting fellow Long Island businesses and their families. In past years, this unique tour has been covered by local cable outlets and network broadcast news, as well as in a variety of print media.

The Long Island Ice Cream Tour was established in 2011 by Jeff Noreman of Old Bethpage, New York and Derek Steen of Sydney, Australia. If you have any questions here or email info+faq@liict.org
