“Hello, my name is Paul and I am the very lucky owner of Strong Island Ice Cream. I have been making my own ice cream for over 35 years. As a kid I would go to work with my mother and watch Papa Webb, the ice cream maker of the diner, make ice cream everyday. I learned all of my skills from him, and of course added my own twists to the secret recipes!”
“Ever since I started to make ice cream by myself, I wanted to open a shop in Suffolk County. Building this shop took me almost over 15 months to build from scratch! It has been the longest journey watching two summers go by as I was in the process of building, but it was definitely worth the wait. I appreciate each and every one of my customers and I love getting to know them all.”
They’ve got the crowd favorites, including G-Ma’s Chocolate, Cookies & Cream, The Vanilla, Middle Country Rocky Road, and Reeses PB Cup. Some of their unique flavors include brown SCPD Coffee & Donuts, Kulfi (Indian ice cream with pistachios), Orange Cardamom, Lavender Sky, Ube Sweet Purple Yam, and Spicy Mango. And Mia’s offers limited time varieties and seasonal flavors (like during fall and Christmas.) LIICT tourers can stop in anytime you’re in the area and sample as many flavors as you like.
